Naturelle Extracts builds first compression caps plant in Nigeria

COMPRESSION Caps, a key packaging element in the beverage industry,is now being sourced in Nigeria.

It is used by bottlers. The material is mostly imported from Europeand other developed countries.

The local production is made possible through an ultra modern,multi-million naira, industrial packaging products plant built byNaturelle Extracts Limited at Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos. Compression capsare industrial products are used to secure closure to plastic,glass, and PET bottles, as well as paper, doyle and tetra packs.

Managing Director of Naturelle Extracts, Mr. Steve Chidi-Agbarakwe,said that, SApart from producing to meet the company"sconsumption, production of compression caps here will be oncommercial basis to meet the vast demand of other water bottlingand beverage companies operating in Nigeria and abroad.

Other packaging products from the company are PET preforms andbottles, thermoform containers, cups among others.

Chidi-Agbarakwe said, SNaturelle Extracts " compression capsplant is the first of its kind in Nigeria and and whole of WestAfrica. He said the plant was set up to complement the packagingrequirement of his company "s fruit juice and water bottlinglines.

Naturelle Extracts, which has engineering/technical partnershipwith Global Sterling Products worldwide, has two existingindustrial complexes in Lagos and Orlu, Imo State. Each of thefactory is fully installed with automatic water bottling line (monoblock model), automatic cup filling and sealing line, completeautomatic preform producing line, complete thermoforming line, twosemi-automatic bottle blowing lines, in addition to the automaticcompression cap making plant in the Lagos factory, the fruit juiceand carbonated drink bottling lines are currently underconstruction and would be completed in four months.
