Man in traffic stop runs from police in his underwear

GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (AP) - Erie County sheriff's deputies say amotorist pulled over in a routine traffic stop, who faced onlypetty traffic violations, ripped off his clothes and ran away.
According to deputies, an officer pulled the man over at 8:41 a.m.Saturday on Grand Island, for no apparent reason stripped to his underwear and ran off.
Deputies began searching for the man, assisted by a U.S. Customsand Border Patrol helicopter.
