Macau jeans on Fashion TV
Macau companies made a positive balance of the Hong Kong FashionWeek for Spring/Summer 2009 that ended yesterday.
The Macau Trade and Investiment Promotion Institute (IPIM) had tenexhibitors showcasing clothes, shoes and accessories. Solar Jeans,one of the Macau companies showcased, has even been selected toproduce a collection of men’s jeans for Fashion TV.
The company manager, Lawrence Zhang, made a positive balance of thefashion week. However, he said he thought that “this yearsthere were less buyers”. Nevertheless, “they werereally good quality buyers from international companies such asZara, Mango and H&M,” he said.
For four days the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre wasthe home for 1,100 exhibitors from about 20 countries and regions,featuring fashion parades, seminars and conferences.
Michael Leow, of Creative Trend Services yesterday gave a talk onEcotextiles and said nowadays “customers are becoming moredemanding in terms of products made in socially and environmentallyresponsible manners”.
One of the highlights of this fashion week was the Hong Kong NewFashion Collection Award featuring designers from all over theworld. The overall winner was Yakw Lam, from Bauhaus InternationalLtd, who presented a collection of fresh clean styles named“Hollywood Rock”.
